An unusual opal and diamond five-stone ring dating from the Edwardian era. The five opals are arranged in altering orientations across the head, three north-south and two east-west. The gaps created by the latter are filled by diamonds - a clever design allowing for both the mesmerising opal colour-bombs, and the alluring sparkle of faceted diamonds. It's crafted in 18k yellow gold with partial Birmingham hallmarks from the year 1903.
